Banks

Bank of Ireland (UK) Plc

Bow Bells House, 1 Bread St, London EC4M 9BE, UK – 020 7236 2000

Always been a fabulous bank even though I've had no branch for 3 years, being in England. They own the Post Office so it can offer most branch services, and the 365 online is fabulous, though adding payees or changing your phone number is a bit draconian.

Bank of England

Threadneedle St, London EC2R 8AH, UK – 020 7601 4444

I went to exchange some old twenty pound bills that went out of circulation and spent some time at the museum. It was time well spent. I enjoyed learning about the history of the bank, its architects, and was intrigued about how busy and crowded it was in the bank on the dividend day. A display of all the Bank of England notes was among my favorites, and of course who would refuse touching the real gold!

Good place to go if you're looking to see some UFOs, reptilian humanoids, and the like.

Westpac Banking Corporation

Camomile Court, 23 Camomile St, London EC3A 7LL, UK – 020 7621 7000

Fantastic service! Staff were incredibly well informed, helpful and efficient. Having wasting considerable time trying to open an online account with another Australian bank, it was an absolute joy to find one that would do everything face to face. Thank you Westpac!

Excellent. Efficient and fast..

Local Chambers of Commerce for WC2B 5RE. These can be an extraordinarily effective way of getting into the business community and / or getting things done. Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. What you put in is exactly what you get out. Below is the national site. Watch this slot - it might improve!
The Old Marylebone Town Hall

Westminster Council House, 97-113 Marylebone Rd, Marylebone, London NW1 5PT, UK – 020 7641 7500

A stunning, beautifully old piece of English history! Well worth a visit! This was the former head office for Births, Deaths & Marriages in London.

Great place for a registry office marriage. Friendly staff. Welcoming atmosphere.

A great location for a small - medium registry wedding. The building has great character, including octagonal council chambers, marble floors and large steel framed windows, that allow natural light to flood in... It really is a photographers dream.

Dental Surgeries

Covent Garden Dental Practice

61G Odhams Walk, London WC2H 9SD, UK – 020 7836 9161

Simply the best (and just about only) amazing positive experience I've had of dentistry. I've been a patient here on and off since the 1990s... that tells you how good they are. Great technical skill and facilities combined with a warmth of service and care. Can't recommend them highly enough.

What a fabulous dentist, I’ve spent many years looking for a practice that would calm my jangled nerves. And from the moment I attended for my first appointment, I felt I was in the safest of hands. My special thanks to Alessandro, you have been amazing. A big thank you to you, and your team. I now have the best of smiles. Ray Petty

elleven Dental and Orthodontics

11 Devonshire Pl, Marylebone, London W1G 6HT, UK – 020 7487 2711

I was referred here to start treatment for corrective jaw surgery, not only did they give me an accurate estimation of the length of the process, they also sent me to the top surgeon in the field (offering to send me through either NHS or private). My treatment was complicated and Dr. Shivani and team went to extra lengths to make sure that I am comfortable and understand everything clearly. All staff is extremely friendly, polite, and flexible to adjust to a schedule that best fits you. Eleven dental not only took care of me well before the operation but also after. They made sure I had many appointments so that they could keep close tabs on BOTH my physical healing and my mental well-being. In case of emergencies (depending on how early you call) you can even get same day appointments. At Eleven, it really feels like everyone truly cares, and that makes all the difference. To be frank, it is a bit pricey for the average person (though I was also in the surgical unit so that made a difference), however for the level and kind of treatment you get it is worth every penny and then some.

I just want to say a big thank you, to all the team at Elleven and especially to Dr S Patel and Dr P Johnson, this multidisciplinary team, is truly focused on delivering excellence. Also I would like to say, that Dr S Patel's level of competence and expertise, has exceeded my expectations and I am thrilled beyond words, with my new smile!

Dental-Spa

83 Charlotte St, Fitzrovia, London W1T 4PR, UK – 020 7631 3199

Dental Spa restored my faith in dentists! Dr Cohan and his team are the pinnacle of professional. I unfortunately had a bad experience with a previous dentist regarding Invisalign treatment, but luckily I found these guys who not only helped straighten my teeth, but they made it a fun experience too. Now I finally have a smile that I always dreamed of. I highly recommend them!

Very friendly, and professional staff. They done a great job for me. Highly recommended.

London Doctors Clinic

101D, 18 Soho Square, Soho, London W1D 3QL, UK – 020 8712 9378

Easy to find. Easy to make online appointments. Very reasonable prices compared to most. The consultancy fee is not mentioned - so the £155 is actually £210. The men's toilets- for the urine sample - are downstairs through public areas. Results are quick, staff are friendly.

Very easy to book an appointment. The clinic is very central. The staff is very friendly and the doctors listen what you have to say and give you time to explain the situation that brought you there without rushing. The blood tests were sent on the same date that you took the samples with an email explaining the results.

London Doctors Clinic Private GP

1906A, Portland House, Bressenden Pl, Westminster, London SW1E 5RS, UK – 020 8712 9378

Very efficient, friendly and professional. Would highly recommend them.

London Doctors Clinic - Private GP

Suite 127a, 9 Devonshire Square, London EC2M 4YF, UK – 020 8712 9378

Extremely friendly and reassuring. Very good value. saves the stress of making the phone call to your GP to be told you cant be seen for 10 days. will definitely recommend.

Use this service a lot. Very practical for city workers, good consultants and not too pricey. Highly recommend

University College Hospital at Westmoreland Street

16-18 Westmoreland St, Marylebone, London W1G 8PH, UK – 020 3456 7898

Probably one of the best. Considering it’s NHS you could mistake it for being private. Some of the best consultants here, up to date with the very latest technology, some amazing stuff they do here. My only criticism would be after procedures in the ward, there are very few staff compared to a general hospital, buts that’s down to government cut backs. Appointments get changed a lot, this again I would say to lack of staff. Staff are very friendly, not found them to be unfriendly as some have suggested, and I have been coming here for around 3 years on regular visits. Keep up the good work😊👍

Staff seem very more focused on getting the paperwork done rather than taking taking a moment to acknowledge people. Very target driven particularly in comparison to some other London hospitals that I have been to. A little customer service related training would go a long way! The food in the canteen was... (I’ll put it down to Hospital aliment) not worth the money. Parking is limited and dang expensive (street parking only) rather commute if you are able to.

Local hospitals - community hospitals and hospitals with A&E departments for WC2B 5RE.

The new NHS website below is very well worth a look. Hospitals are not only listed but evaluated. I certainly know which ones I would go to! At the very least you will know what questions to ask if you are sent to one which has not entered its data. Good luck!

Find Local Churches & Places of Worship

Church of the Immaculate Conception Farm Street

114 Mount St, Mayfair, London W1K 3AH, UK – 020 7493 7811

This is a welcoming church in the centre of London. It is set in a park which provides short pretty walks in good weather. There are several services on a Sunday. We went to the 11.00 am service. It was in Latin reflecting the cosmopolitan nature of the congregation. It was followed by a drink in the hall where we were made very welcome.

This us must see church. This is also Jesuit center in London. Very beautiful and nice church. Amazing architectura. One if the best looking church in London just in the heart of London

Christ Church Mayfair

Down St, Mayfair, London W1J 7AN, UK – 020 7629 5885

Very friendly, welcoming church with great teaching and great music. There's always a good mix of regulars, visitors, and people who've just moved to London, so you won't stand out like a sore thumb if you drop in. Morning service is family friendly, with a couple of creches and a few Sunday school classes, grouped by age range. Evening service has a younger crowd and more contemporary music.

We have enjoyed Christ Church Mayfair for almost 10 years, great place for biblical teaching and wonderful friendly people! If you are looking for a place to learn about the bible or hear about what faith in God is or the good news of Christ you will find it at Christ Church in Mayfair.

The Church of St Anselm and St Cæcilia

Really good service when I spoke on the phone. I had lost my order number but they found it

Sold the phone in my cupboard and enjoyed the orange website !!!

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Drury Lane

Galvin Restaurants

19 Newman St, Fitzrovia, London W1T 1PF, UK – 020 7299 0444

I have been to many of the Galvin Restaurants. Each of them offer a unique experience and a lovely twist of French cooking. Galvin La Chapelle is absolutely stunning and the crab lasagna is one of my favourite of the Galvin brothers’ signature dishes. Galvin HOP offers a relaxed ambiance and their Tarte flambée is delicious. The Athenaeum offers lovely afternoon tea and their bar is very stunning, a great venue for a Friday or Saturday night cocktail. I have also had the chance to venture the Galvin Green Man in Chelmsford which is less than an hour from London. Since they’ve opened, they won many awards including a Bib Gourmand and that’s not surprising. With lovely surrounding countryside, you can enjoy their Galvin’s classics, some lovely seasonal dishes or if you are in the mood even some pub grub. Definitely worth the ride! I can’t recommend Galvin restaurants enough and wish them many more years of success.

Love it

Browns Old Jewry

8-10 Old Jewry, London EC2R 8DN, UK – 020 7606 6677

It's not a "bad" place but it could be better. Upstairs is really noisy if there are a lot of people so try get a seat downstairs. The food is quite tasty when they get it right but don't be afraid to send the hard as nails well done steak back if you ordered it medium rare originally. The service has always been impeccable.

Lovely place but service was oh so slow! Ended up leaving without dessert. And it wasnt even busy!.Though we did receive a discount as a result. Food was ok.

Leon Restaurants Pancras Square

Is my favourite brunch so far!

Archbishop Sumner Church of England Primary School

Jubilee House, 2 Reedworth St, Lambeth, London SE11 4PE, UK – 020 7735 2781

My eldest daughter has attended this school from reception and I have been impressed by the dedication of the both the staff and governors. Music and sports provision with specialist teachers for a small primary is particularly good along with support for a range of abilities both those needing more basic support and those who need to be stretched. Only quibble is clarity and timeliness of communication; the school has both a mobile app and regular SMS updates in addition to a weekly newsletter however not always consistent and allowing sufficient time for working parents to plan. In general a welcoming and supportive environment for children, parents and staff.

Great support for kids who need it and great after school activities. It is a little small for 2 form classes though.
